Slave of Otoh Gunga

Description

The gungan race has always had an uneasy relationship with the humans that they share their native world of Naboo with. Even after hundreds of years, the amphibious race still resents the humans for forcing them from the surface world and into the dark and dangerous waters of Naboo’s oceans and lakes. This resentment has led to many conflicts between the two races, ranging from small matters like thievery and kidnapping too much larger issues that include riots and full-scale military battles. While the gungans have often flaunted their victories over their human counterparts they also kept many thing secret from the surface, secrets that would test the relative peace of the two races after the Battle of Naboo.

In the year 30 BBY, just after Queen Amidala and Rugor Nass (also known as Boss Nass) had signed the first peace treaty between their respective races, the Queen and her advisors received a message detailing the release and transport of several hundred “political prisoners” from the gungan cities. The Naboo politicians did not know how to react, having had no prior knowledge of any citizens being held prisoner by the gungans. They quickly responded asking for more information but receiving little more than the date and time to expect the delivery of the prisoners in Theed.

On the day of the proposed delivery a small portions of the Theed military awaited the gungans arrival outside the walled city, unsure of what to expect and nervous about what it could mean for the burgeoning relationship between gungans and humans. The gungans kept to the date and met the soldiers with several Fambaa creatures pulling large metal crates behind them. Without saying a word they unhitched the crates and left them behind, retreating back into the forest.

As the last gungan slipped back into the tree-line the men of the Naboo guard began to inspect the crates, worried that it might be some trap left by the gungans. But after hours of analyzing the metallic carriers it was decided that there was no danger in opening them. Still paranoid that soldiers could be lying in wait inside they decided to open them outside the city. With guns pointed at the entrance, they broke the lock and pulled the heavy doors opened. The weapons were quickly lowered in surprise at what they found inside.

Packed within the crates were hundreds if not thousands of female humans all chained to the floors and walls of the crate. Naked and frighten they stared out at the soldiers pointing their blasters at them, surprise and fear on each lovely face.

As much as the women were surprised, the men outside the crate were even more shocked. As one soldier stated after returning from the event: “It was the last thing we were expecting. Before you couldn’t have paid any of us enough to go into those metallic cylinders, but after we got over our shock everybody including the captains were jumping at the chance to go inside.” The military has since denied the claim the Naboo that soldiers and officers were “jumping at the chance” to inspect the prisoners and released a statement to the contrary. “The members present at the event acted in a manner befitting the proud guard of Naboo and did nothing to accost or demean the female captives. The misguided comments of one soldier do not represent the whole of the military.”

When the soldiers did enter the crates they were in for even more surprises. Instead of seeing the men as liberators they were afraid of them, some even refusing to leave until they were forced. Others were weeping and crying, inconsolable even as the soldiers tried to calm them down. There was one thing in common they found as they released the girls, one question that each seemed to ask over and over again: “Where is Master!” “Where is Master, he needs me!” “Where is Master?” “Please, where has my Master gone?”

Captain Panaka who was in charge of the operation spoke briefly about the event several months later. “We were not prepared for the situation” He admitted. “We had no idea what was going, who these women were, or what had happened to them.”

“We couldn’t leave them out in the open and we had to get them back into the city before we could figure out what to do with them. There were too few of us to handle the number of captives so we placed them back into the crates with a few guards to try to keep them calm and called for a few haulers.”

As the haulers were brought into the Theed, they carried the women to a tent city that had been prepared for the political prisoners beforehand. There weren’t enough tents for all the women the citizens of the city were asked to take the women until more space could be found.

While they looked for more room, an immediate investigation began, each women catalogued and their DNA recorded. As information was gathered on them several things became apparent. One, that all women were exceedingly beautiful even by high Naboo standards, with many of them having augmentation or enhancements to increase their attractiveness. Two, each slave referred to a master but when asked who their master was they would not say, believing they would be punished if they gave away the identity. And three, almost all were once registered Naboo citizens who had been reported missing.

To the investigators, as this information became available, it became apparent who these women were and what had happened to them. After interviewing each girl extensively to back up their story they then presented their findings to Queen Amidala. They informed her that for at least the past 300 years the gungans had been kidnapping young Naboo girls and enslaving them. Over the years they had never kidnapped enough to ever raise suspicions but still had accumulated the large population of slave girls that now lived within Theed.

To Amidala's horror she learned the girls had been used almost exclusively as sex slaves, sold to rich members of gungan society who had a taste for the unwilling human women. But rape and humiliation was not the only thing that awaited these women in their servitude to their new masters. No something far worse than their dignity would be taken from them in the underwater cities.

Once purchased these girls would be introduced to the Kajiit, an apparatus most commonly use in the flesh markets of Nuri. This device, unlike others used to teach slaves obedience, did not use pain to break a servant’s will but pleasure to break their mind.

“The Kajiit is a cruel machine, not because it causes any sort of discomfort or bodily harm but because it is used to erase part of the victims mind, a part that usually can never be returned.” States Momaw Nadon, an expert on slavery in and author of the best-selling Sexinomics. “On Naboo this device was used on the female captives to basically erase their resistant and rebellious desires and strengthen their submissive and obedient instincts.”

In Sexinomics, Nadon describes the process that is commonly used to break a slave with the Kajiit. “Beforehand the subject is injected with several types of drugs to ensure their bodies are extremely sensitive and minds susceptible to suggestion. Once successfully sedated and aroused they are placed into the machine and a mind disruptor placed across the girl’s temple. With preparations complete the Kajiit is activated and the true horror begins. Various devices attached to the machine begin the sexually stimulate the subjects, overloading their senses and leaving their minds vulnerable. After the female’s first three climaxes the mental disruptor begin its work, suppressing any thoughts of disobedience and sending subliminal messages through their weakened nervous system. This process, however, takes time and the subject usually can’t withstand more than a few hours on the device. It must be done over several sessions before the women’s mind is truly broken. By this time they are nothing more than the compliant sex slaves of their masters. They literally cannot refuse an order given to them by their owners.”

This process had been described by several slaves to the investigators on Naboo and they quickly identified it as the reason for the girl’s behavior and almost crazed need to return to their masters. They relayed this information to the Queen of Naboo in the same meeting, much to the disgust and rage of everyone present. The girls, while freed from their gungan masters, would never be the same and nothing could be done to reverse the affect that had been done to them.

Many of politicians called for gungan blood over this outrage saying that they never would have agreed to peace if they had known about these atrocities. But the Queen calmed them and decided to take a more diplomatic approach. She met privately with Rugor Nass a week later and the two discussed what should be done. The gungan leader had never mentioned the slaves before the treaty believing it would have led to war. Now with the treaty signed he had hoped that releasing the slaves in good faith before they were discovered would lessen the consequences of his people’s actions.

Amidala did not agree that the gungans should come away unscathed but agreed that Naboo’s people had treated the gungans unfairly as well. Both leaders called for the slate to be wiped clean so as to not lead to another bloody war. This decision would leave many of the people unsatisfied, especially those whose wives and daughters had been corrupted by the gungan slavers. The resulting dip in Amidala’s popularity almost cumulated in her losing her office the following year. She would keep her position for another term and eventually become the senator for Naboo after she stepped down.

Despite many attempts to reverse the effects of the Kajiit on the freed slaves, none would be successful. Tragically very few would ever be able reenter Naboo society.

While the gungans claim that all slaves were released in there have been reports that several of the gungan upper-class still own human pleasure slaves in secret. While none of these claims have been substantiated it has led many to wonder if the underwater cities still hold a few secrets from their surface counterparts.
